Hello!

This is Rica. Your soon-to-be engineer. And here’s why I founded AME Studios.

Ever since I was 5 years old I have been in love with music and was always involved with it somehow. But where I came from in Brazil, music wasn’t a career choice as there were no courses in universities to follow. So I ended up following my other passion and studied mechatronics engineering.

Then, after a quick research I found out about the Music Production and Engineering major at Berklee College of Music. Well, music + engineering? How did no one tell me about that before? I was instantly sold! So I moved to Boston (right after graduation) to pursue my career in music.

Having an engineering background gave me an instant understanding of how every piece of gear and acoustics in a studio worked from the inside, allowing me to only focus on how to use them in effective and creative ways. I learned about engineering serving music. (← just writing this gives me the chills!)

As I progressed in my program, I was constantly seeing all this musical potential from my peers that would actually never be heard. Why? Because of the lack of knowledge of musicians about the music production process, which is not the focus of their musical training.

So while still at school, I set up a small studio and started helping friends and other students get their music recorded outside of the school’s bubble. Giving them more flexibility and freedom to create, in an environment that is artist-centered.

That’s how AME Studios started back in 2015.

I love learning and teaching, so working with developing artists made a lot of sense to me, and it showed me the 3 most critical things they really need.

 - A process that is focused on boosting the artist’s (that’s you!) confidence and creativity so you can feel comfortable and deliver your best performance.

- A partner that removes all of the hurdles and technicalities that could potentially demotivate and distract you.

- And an environment that can nurture creativity, where everyone is free and comfortable.

So since I was finished with school, I was eager to hone my skills so I could serve my clients better, improved the equipment and facilities to achieve a flawless and smooth workflow and implemented systems and processes to support bands like you as your full-stack engineer.
